
ARTLab developed the Burning Music web site and CD simulation to demonstrate how key Apple technologies and third party software could be used to build a media rich and database-driven dynamic web site for selling music CDs over the Internet.
Technologies included WebObjects, DHTML, QuickTime 3 multi-date rate streaming video, QuickTime VR, AppleScript, Audio/video compression and muli-language support. Third-party products covered media creation, media optimization and media delivery.
The CD simulates key aspects of the functionality of the Burning Music web site and provides step by step walkthroughs of using the technologies and software packages to create the content & behavior of the site.
The CD was used for presentations and by sales people to demonstrate the use of technical software packages and tell an integrated story. The CD was also distributed directly to consumers.
ARTLab developed all aspects of the demo: concept, script, programming, negotiating content from Record labels and all graphics.
